2026 FCPS Work-Based Learning Conference (Fairfax, VA)
On behalf of the FCPS Work-Based Learning (WBL) Team, thank you for your past participation and support of our annual Work-Based Learning Conference. Your involvement has helped strengthen connections between our school-based staff and the business community, and we truly appreciate your partnership.
We would love to welcome you back to this year’s conference, which the FCPS Work-Based Learning Team is hosting in partnership with the Fairfax County Department of Family Services Workforce Development on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
This annual professional learning event brings together High School College and Career Experience Specialists, Academy Career Experience Specialists, Internship Teachers, and Employment Transition Representatives—the school-based staff who coordinate and support student-driven Work-Based Learning (WBL) experiences aligned with Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.

We invite you to reconnect with our school-based staff by participating in one or both of the following opportunities:
Option 1: Host a Choice Session
Share updates about your organization, industry trends, hiring needs, internship opportunities, career pathways, or resources that will help school staff better prepare students for the workforce.
Time Commitment: Approximately 40 minutes onsite at the Fairfax County Government Center.
- Session 1: 9:05 – 9:40 a.m.
- Session 2: 9:45 – 10:30 a.m.
- Session 3: 10:35 – 11:15 a.m.
Option 2: Host a School-Based Staff Externship
Provide school staff with an immersive experience at your workplace to deepen their understanding of your industry, workforce needs, and the careers available to students. These experiences help educators build stronger connections with employers and identify meaningful Work-Based Learning opportunities for FCPS students.
